Flossing tips By Dr. Khushboo Modern Dental clinic in Channasandra
Flossing tips:
1) Use a two-foot-long piece of floss. Encircle it around each hand's middle finger.
2) Grasp the floss with each hand's thumb and index finger.
3) Gently work the floss between your teeth until it reaches the gum line. Avoid forcing the floss into your gums by doing so. Make a "C"-shaped curve with the floss around the edges of every tooth. Under the gums, move the floss up and down.
4) Some people have arthritis or other conditions that make flossing challenging. If holding floss is too difficult, consider using a wooden or plastic dental pick.
5) Floss holder: a tiny device that retains the floss so your fingers don't have to grasp it.
6) A floss threader threads floss through small spaces, much like a needle and thread.
7) A hand-held gadget that sprays water is called a water flosser.
8) Small brushes called interdentals are made specifically to clean in the spaces between teeth.
